Just In: Edo Deputy Governor refuses to move to new office location

The cold war between Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and his deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu has taken another turn for the worst and analysts are predicting that if care is not taken the whole thing may catapult to a catastrophe in days to come.

Reliable sources are hinging their opinion on the matter on the fact that despite that Governor Obaseki has relocated Comrade Shaibu to a new office space outside the Government House where it is presently located, the Deputy Governor has refused to move out insisting that he will only leave for the new office location if the state government go all out to renovate the new place to match his taste.

According to the usually reliable source Comrade Shaibu’s concern is that having met the office in shambles when he came in in 2016 he invested much money and resources in making it look much presentable in line with his taste, filling the different rooms with exquisite furniture in line with what is applicable globally.

“Comrade Philip Shaibu has refused to pack out of the Government House and move to the new office allocated to him by Governor Obaseki outside the Government House premises. As I speak with you we (Shaibu’s aides) are still operating from the Government House premises,” Popular News source discloses.

Also worrisome is the gist that Comrade Shaibu has totally refused to step down his ambition to succeed Governor Obaseki in 2024. It is rumoured that he is eyeing the governorship ticket of any of the Labour Party (LP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2024 poll if Obaseki and the party elders refuse to endorse him in the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
