JOOPSA set for official launch

Director General(DG) of the John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA), Precious Ajoonu, has reiterated that the outfit was initiated by Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, majorly to train the state work force.

He added: “as we embark on this journey to empower and equip our public servants with the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities, we believe that JOOPSA will play a pivotal role in driving positive change and fostering a culture of excellence in public service.”

Ajoonu made the disclosure while announcing the upcoming launch of the JOOPSA and the commemoration of the 84th birthday of Chief John Odigie Oyegun, a former governor of the state, who the facility is named after.

The dual purpose programme, which is slated for Saturday, August 12th, 2023, is billed to be witnessed by the creme-de-le-creme of the society.

According to the DG, “JOOPSA was established by the Edo State Government with a strategic intent to fooster accelerated human capital development within the State Public Service. Under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki, the administration’s commitment to this objective is exemplified by the construction of a world class Training Centre.

“This Centre is thoughtfully designed and equipped with modern facilities, including classrooms, an amphitheater, a library, a sickbay, and tech labs, all of which are complemented by cutting edge technologies, training aids, and equipment to enhance the learning process.”
