Today, Wednesday, May 1, all roads led to the palatial residence of the former deputy governor of Edo State, Lucky Imasuen, situated in Iyekogba Housing Estate, Benin City where the lingering crisis that rocked the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ovia North East Local Government Area of the state was resolved amidst backslapping.
Imasuen in hosting a grand meeting of the APC stakeholders in the locality was very firm in his decision that the warring parties should sheathe their swords and embrace peace especially seeing that the state governorship poll is around the corner and thus all hands must be on deck to ensure victory for the party.
The crisis that rocked the APC in Ovia North East Local Government Area was brought about by the suspension of its chairman in the area, Hon. Oscar Aghedo on allegations bothering majorly on misappropriation of funds.
Popular News gathered that when Aghedo was suspended his place was taken by the party Vice Chairman, this formed a cleavage in the party with those in support of Aghedo on one side and those supporting the Vice Chairman on the other side of the divide.
Imasuen, desirous of settling the crisis in record time in readiness left no stone unturned in ensuring that all grey areas were resolved in the reconciliation meeting which lasted for one and half hours so that peace can prevail.Â
Said a source close to Imasuen: “As a leader of the APC in Ovia North East Local Government Area the former deputy governor was bothered that the crisis has so lingered. He was particularly worried that it could affect the chances of the party in the forthcoming governorship election thus his desire to nip the crisis in the bud and return the party to its winning ways in the area.”
At the end of the meeting all and sundry agreed whole heartedly to let bygone be bygone and work assidously in ensuring overwhelming victory for the APC in the September 21 governorship election in the state.

Orobosa Omo Ojo; APC Woman Leader in Ovia North East LGA; Secretary of APC in Ovia North East LGA, Peter Omorodion; Hon. Peter Osagie, Stanley Ayetan and Mrs Tawa Idugboe.
