The Majority Leader of the Federal House of Representatives, Professor Julius Ihonvbere, has got his constituents queuing up behind him on account of an empowerment programme he initiated for them.

On Saturday, September 27, 2025, Professor Ihonvbere, who was represented by Hon Nelson Asekhamen, at the official opening of GTB and FCMB agent banking in Okpuje, Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State, charged indigenes and neighboring communities to patronize the banking facilities.

According to Professor Ihonvbere, who represents Owan Federal Constituency, this would attract development to the community and surrounding areas.

The federal lawmaker while appreciating Princess Christine Igbafen for the beautiful initiative, demonstrated his commitment to local business development by facilitating the account opening of 20 persons, paying their initial deposits on the spot.

He expressed his intention to visit the bank hub in Okpuje whenever he’s in Iuleha, noting that he already has an account with one of the banks.

The ceremony was attended by illustrious sons and daughters of Okpuje, community chiefs, and head chiefs. The facilitator, Princess Christine Igbafen, appreciated the House Leader for sending a representative, considering his busy schedule with national assignments.”
