I will make Tinubu, Nigerians proud – Shaibu 

The Director General(DG) of the National Institute for Sports(NIS) and immediate past Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu has promised that he would make President Bola Tinubu and indeed Nigerians proud by delivering on the President’s mandate and aligning the institute’s operations with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He stated this in a chat with reporters at a thanksgiving service held in his honour at St. Paul Catholic Church, Airport Road, Benin City on Sunday morning.

The thanksgiving service was attended by notable dignitaries including the incumbent Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa; former Chief of Staff to the Edo State Government, Hon. Taiwo Akerele;  the lawmaker representing Akoko-Edo Constituency 2 in the Edo State House of Assembly, Honorable Donald Okogbe; the Olokpe of Okpe Okpe-Oloma, HRH Oba F. A. Igbafe, and a horde of All Progressives Congress(APC) stalwarts in the state. 

Shaibu expressed his unreserved gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for entrusting him with the responsibility of reforming and rebranding the NIS.

The Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, congratulated Shaibu on his appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to deliver on his mandate.

Shaibu, in his response to Idahosa, assured that he and Idahosa would be good ambassadors of Edo State, working tirelessly to promote the state’s interests.

The thanksgiving service was followed by a reception at his palatial residence on Aideyan Avenue, GRA where friends, well-wishers, his extended family members and scores of his associates gathered to celebrate his appointment with delicious meal and assorted choice drinks spiced with trending music being played by the Disc Jockey.
