I didn’t stop Pastor Ize-Iyamu wife’s free medical outreach programme – Obaseki’s wife

Betsy, wife of the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has in a statement made available to Popular News reacted to the allegation made against her some days ago by APC, which was also viral on video, that she sent policemen to disrupt a free medical outreach programme been conducted by Professor Idia Ize-Iyamu, wife of the APC governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in Uromi just to ensure that the people attend her own political campaign.

Reacting through her press secretary, Peter Okonkwo, the statement affimed: “My attention has been drawn to a press statement released by the APC and signed by one John Mayaki alleging that Her Excellency, Betsy Obaseki, ordered the police to stop a free medical outreach being organised by the wife of the APC candidate in Uromi.

“First Her Excellency, Betsy Obaseki, is busy with the Women Wing of the PDP Campaign committee and she has been engaged in series of meetings and mobilisation for the September 19 governorship election as could be seen with the success of the campaign in Esan Land. She does not run the Police force and so this accusation is totally frivolous.
“The APC is intimidated by the massive support of Esan people for the PDP government and their resolve to return Governor Obaseki for second term so they are now making up excuses not to continue their campaign.”
