Group calls on FG to stop killings of #Endsars protesters

BRACED UNION(BU), a pressure group on the vanguard of agitation for socio-economic cum political stability of the Niger Delta Region, has condemned in strong terms the senseless killings of innocent peaceful protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate, who were demanding for better governance through the ENDSARS campaigns across states.

BU expresses shock over the massacre of these martyrs by alleged soldiers on the orders of the presidency to disperse the protesters barely hours after the Lagos State Government imposed a 24-hour curfew in Lagos.

In a press statement endorsed by BU’s National President, High Chief Monday Wehere (JP), he condemns the killings describing such as barbaric and ill conceived as it is the fundamental human rights of the protesting youths to demand for a better life and so far that has been done within the ambit of the law until Tuesday’s onslaught by agents of the state.

BU also frowns at the incursions of thugs in the protests, burning of police stations and the violence that erupted in Edo State on Monday leading to a jail break as it cautions against the use of violence to settle civil scores warning that such acts of brigandage would do the region no good as he calls on protesting youths across the nation to be civil in their protests against bad governance.

While commiserating with the families of victims who lost their lives in the scuffle, and those injured, Wehere calls for restrain and demands that the government should Withdraw all military troupes unleashing terror against peaceful protesters in order not to result to a total break down of law and order which does not augur well for the nation.

“BU lends its voice to the ENDSARS campaigns as it is in line with BU’s demands for better governance and protection of the rights of the citizens against police brutality which has been a bane in recent past.”
