Forum pleads for Mayaki

Roy Oribhabor, the Convener Concerned Edo Citizens Forum(CECF), has added his voice to the recent appeal for forgiveness made by John Mayaki to Mike Igini for past wrongful accusation.

In a statement, Oribhabor said: “I read with great concern and unlimited understanding on Christmas Day a statement credited to Mr. John Mayaki where he apologized to Mr Mike Igini over his press conference in October.

“Despite the open fact that, yours sincerely was not on same page with Mr. John Mayaki politically in the just concluded Edo Gubernatorial election but I humbly join him in solidarity to appeal to my mentor and far senior in University of Benin, Mr. Mike Igini to kindly accept the apology accordingly with good and open heart. Both Mayaki and Igini have demonstrated serious capacity and also, distinguished themselves in their chosen career hence, they are great sons of Niger Delta. Growing up as young student in University of Benin,  I fell in love with  Comrade Mike Igini for his noble character and intellectual sagacity, his evaluation and practical thinking is second to none. From distance, I adore him till we met in Edo State as INEC Resident Officer and as the Chairman of Edo State, Conference of Nigerian Political Parties ( CNPP).

“Mr. John Mayaki is also, not my friend but I admire his writing skills and prowess from a distance. In the build up to the last election, I made series of attempt to reach him but all my efforts to reach and see him physically proved abortive but I enjoyed his writings  and press releases therefore, I salute him as he humbled himself to declare thus: the story against Mr. Igini was fatally wrong and unable to pass credibility check’ that it was great and serious embarrassment to himself. What a true confession from an open heart!  He went further to state, that he took time to scrutinise and review his source and concluded that, the story against my mentor and elder brother was not only taradiddle, mendacious, but misleading because it was mere fabrication concocted from pit of hell to discredit a shining light from South South to score cheap political point to the benefit of his pay masters to the detriment of Edo people.

“However, i join him to press further his profound  apology  to Mr. Mike Igini, Mr. Anselm, distinguished son of Esan land and my dependable  and reliable Executive Governor, Edo State Mr. Godwin Obaseki and by extension, INEC to show understanding accordingly. Mr John Mayaki is a man prone to mistakes and errors, fallible to gimmicks and mere mortal  shenanigans hence, I join him to appeal for superior understanding and open acceptance.”
