Don’t be deceived by what seems to be a new turn of events for the better between Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu.
Barely a few days ago Governor Obaseki acceded to the plea by his deputy that he should let bygones be bygones so that they can follow the peace path. The governor quietly agreed with his embattled deputy and they embraced themselves.
However, political analysts viewed their action as a pure window dressing as some issues relating to their ‘fight’ are yet to be resolved. For instance, Comrade Shaibu has not opted out of his very strong ambition to succeed his boss in 2024.
Also many people are of the view that if really the duo are back to their good old days of been pals the governor would have recalled his deputy back to his former office space inside the Government House.
Reliable sources told Popular News that the situation of things in the deputy governor’s new office space is way below expectations as the office is always waterlogged such that callers at the place and the workers battle through the heavy waterlogged ground to gain entrance into the facility.
Popular News gathered reliably that what was thought to be the renovation work done on the facility was just a repainting of the buildings as no effort was made towards putting the facility in tiptop shape.
To give credence to the very poor state of the facility some guests now refer to it as Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp.
