Officials of the Edo State Government, especially political appointees, are said to be in constant fear of the unknown as their jobs are said to be at stake courtesy of an impending shake up in the cabinet of Governor Monday Okpebholo.

It was gathered that the cabinet shake up would have been effected long ago but for the legal exercise the governor had to go through as his election was been affirmed.

Recently, the cabinet shake up issue came to the forefront once again as the governor sent the names of some individuals to the state House of Assembly as nominees for appointment as commissioners.

Presently, the state exco has six serving commissioners. The state is made up of 18 local government areas which infer that 12 more positions need to be filled to give each of the local government areas some measure of equality cum recognition.

As talk of the cabinet reshufflement rent the air some names are being peddled as those who may likely be dropped or redeployed.

Unconfirmed reports divulge that number one on the list is Hon. Paul Ohonbamu, the Commissioner for Information and Communication. Gist is that the ex-lawmaker may be redeployed to another ministry.

Also on the list is Oladele Bankole-Balogun, Chairman of the Board of the State Internal Revenue; Mallam Gani Audu, the Chief of Staff(COS) to the governor; Samson Raphael Osagie, Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General and the Commissioner for Health, Cyril Oshiomhole.
