Ex-reps member plans return to the green chambers

Hon. Abdul Oroh, a former member of the National Assembly, who represented Owan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, and who was also a Commissioner for Agriculture in Edo State during the administration of then Governor Adams Oshiomhole, has signified his intention to return to the National Assembly in 2027.

Having served only one term in the House of Representatives between 2003 and 2007, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oroh said he was keen to return to the House on the premise of rotational arrangement.

According to Oroh, his bid is backed by an unwritten zoning arrangement between Owan West and Owan East, which supposedly dictates that the seat should rotate to Owan East, having been held by Owan West for eight years.

Oroh’s entry into politics saw him elected as a member of the House of Representatives on the PDP platform before defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A journalist, lawyer and human rights activist, Oroh, who was at the forefront of the campaign to sack the military from governance in the aftermath of the denial of Chief M. K. O. Abiola’s electoral victory in the June 12th,1993 Presidential Poll, has promised that his return to the House of Representatives will witness a horde of good legislation meant to uplift the living standard of his constituents and indeed Nigerians.
