Congratulations to my dear friend, Abass Braimah, The Congressman, on your well-deserved appointment as Ambassador-Designate to Hungary.
This honour is not only a recognition of your dedication to public service but also a testament to your character, competence, and commitment to Nigeria.
Hungary is a nation with a rich and fascinating history. Located in Central Europe. Over the centuries, Hungary experienced periods of foreign domination, including rule by the Ottoman Empire and later the Habsburg monarchy. In 1867, it became part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, one of Europe’s great powers before its dissolution after World War I.
In modern times, Hungary transitioned from communist rule following the end of the Cold War, and today stands as a democratic republic and a member of the European Union and NATO.
With its beautiful capital, Budapest, renowned cultural heritage, and strategic place in Europe, Hungary presents an important platform for strengthening diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties with Nigeria.
My dear brother, as you prepare to represent our great nation in this historic European country, I have no doubt that you will bring honour to Nigeria and deepen the bonds of friendship between our two nations.
Once again, congratulations on this remarkable milestone.
