In celebration of Eid-ul-Mawlid, the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Desmond Enabulele, has extended warm greetings to Muslim members of the sports community, urging them to embrace hope, unity, and resilience during this sacred occasion.
Enabulele called on athletes, coaches, officials, and sports enthusiasts to draw inspiration from the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), by embodying virtues such as peace, tolerance, and compassion.
“This season is not only a moment for reflection and renewal but also an opportunity to embrace the spirit of hope, unity, and resilience that sports itself represents,” Enabulele remarked.
He emphasized that Eid-ul-Mawlid, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), should inspire a renewed commitment to personal and collective growth in sports, especially as Edo State competes in the ongoing 2025 National Youth Games in Asaba.
“Eid-ul-Mawlid is a reminder of new beginnings and of the strength that comes from overcoming challenges. Just as the season ushers in new life, let us also strive to renew our commitment to sports development in Edo State,” he added.
Enabulele encouraged all stakeholders in the sports sector to use the festive period to recharge, reflect, and recommit to shared goals of excellence, development, and sportsmanship.
“Together, we can achieve great things and further consolidate Edo State’s position as a leading force in Nigerian sports,” he affirmed.
He concluded by wishing the Muslim Ummah a peaceful and joyous Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration, filled with spiritual fulfillment and renewed vigor.
