Edo State Ministry of Works disclaim alleged contract award

The Edo State Ministry of Works has issued a public disclaimer on the alleged award of a contract of the construction of 12km of internal roads in Esan Central Local Government Area of the state. 

The notice of disclaimer, which emanated from the office of Engr. John Obanor, the Functioning Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, went thus: “The general public, relevant authorities, and stakeholders are hereby notified that the Edo

State Government has not awarded any contract for the construction of 12km of internal roads in Esan Central Local Government Area, Irrua, Edo State, to Midmac Construction Nig. Ltd., Abuja, contrary to the false claims contained in a letter purportedly signed by reputable staff and submitted to the Ministry.

The notice of disclaimer

“We wish to state unequivocally that the staff in question is a committed and reputable staff member of the Ministry, has no involvement whatsoever in this fraudulent act. Moreover, he is not authorized to issue such letters or documents. The Ministry affirms that the said correspondence did not originate from the Edo State Ministry of Works.

“For any inquiries or clarifications regarding road construction contract awards, the public is advised to contact the Ministry of Works directly.

“The Ministry strongly condemns this act of impersonation and deception, clearly intended to mislead the public and damage the Ministry’s reputation. Anyone found to be involved in such fraudulent activities will face the full weight of the law.”
