Edo State Govt banks on Insurance to defeat Moroccan opponents

Edo State Government has charged sports lovers in the state, most especially those residing in the state capital, Benin City and the neighbouring towns, to storm the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City in their thousands to cheer the Bendel Insurance FC as it files out to confront Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RSB) of Morocco in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the CAF Confederation Cup competition.

According to the Chairman of the State Sports Commission, Yusuf Ali, the state government has gone all out to ensure that the match goes incidence free and its representatives, Bendel Insurance, comes out victorious at the end of the game.

Addressing reporters ahead of the match, Ali disclosed that the state government has done all that is necessary to put the Bendel Insurance in the right frame of mind to overcome their opponents from Morocco.

He asserted that the Governor Godwin Obaseki led state government is leaving no room for doubts in its desire to ensure that the Insurance FC return to its glorious days of yore when it was the envy of many of its rivals.

Yusuf stated that the Edo State Government has investment huge sums of money to bring back the glory days of the state in the sports arena.

He promised sports fans free tickets, free transportation to and fro the stadium, lots of freebies and exciting moments in the match slated for 4.00pm on Saturday, September 16th.
