Edo State Football Association in strategic partnership with DAAR Communications PLC

The Edo State Football Association (Edo FA) has gone into a strategic partnership with DAAR Communications PLC, one of Nigeria’s foremost media and entertainment organizations.

As part of this collaboration, the company has generously donated branded jerseys and other sporting items in support of the forthcoming 2026 Edo FA Cup.

DAAR Communications PLC, a leading Nigeria-based media group and pioneer of independent broadcasting in the country, continues to demonstrate its commitment to the development of sports and grassroots football nationwide. The donation was made possible through the leadership and support of the organization’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Raymond Dokpesi Jr., Chairman of DAAR Communications PLC.

A delegation from DAAR Communications PLC, led by Chairman, Dr. Marcel Anyalechi, traveled from Abuja to Benin City to formally present the sporting items to the Edo State Football Association. The items presented include sponsored jerseys for participating teams in the 2026 Edo FA Cup, football socks, and other essential equipment aimed at enhancing the competition and supporting participating clubs.

The delegation was warmly received by the leadership and members of the Edo State Football Association, led by its Chairman, Fred Newton Erhunwunse. Also present were the Vice Chairman, Paul Ojeisekhoba; the Secretary of the Association, Richard Otupate; Board Member and Chairman of the 2026 Edo FA Cup Organizing Committee, Mikhail Igbinovia; and the Chairman of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (Edo State Chapter), Felix Evbodi, alongside other board members and staff of the association.

Speaking during the presentation, Chairman Fred Newton Erhunwunse expressed profound appreciation to DAAR Communications PLC and its leadership for the support, noting that the gesture will significantly boost preparations for the 2026 Edo FA Cup and further strengthen grassroots football development in the state.

“This partnership with DAAR Communications PLC is a welcome development for football in Edo State. The support through the provision of jerseys and other sporting items will add great value to the organization of the 2026 Edo FA Cup. We sincerely appreciate the CEO, Raymond Dokpesi Jr., and the entire management of the organization for their commitment to supporting football development,” he stated.

The Edo State Football Association emphasized that collaborations with reputable corporate organizations such as DAAR Communications PLC remain essential to promoting football excellence, talent discovery, and the sustainable growth of the sport across the state.
