It was a thrilling encounter yesterday evening between Edo Queens FC and Bayelsa Princesses FC in their third game of the ongoing maiden edition of Governor Douye Diri female football pre-season tournament as the Queens were forced to play 0-0 with the second team of the host State.
The highly tactical game took place at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex with the Stadium filled to capacity because of the two NWFL giants teams involved.
Edo Queens came into the match with full determination to win, they took total control of the game playing a dominant role in all departments of the match but there was no goal to crown their efforts.
Edo and Bayelsa are not new to each when it comes to women football, they have always had issues to settle.
Bayelsa Princesses is an offshoot of Bayelsa Queens. Majority of the players were drafted from Bayelsa Queens. So they are equally not new to the system.
The match was an explosive one full of action. The two teams were highly commended by football fans.
Edo Queens technical crew made so many useful changes, giving other players an opportunity to show what they have in stock for the team. It is important to know that the players actually gave good account of themselves.
Edo Queens now have five points from three matches, they will be up against FC Robo this afternoon in the last group game.
