Edo Queens Football Club of Benin will on Wednesday, January 14th, take on Naija Ratels FC of Abuja in Match Day 6 of Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) premiership. The match will be played at the Bwari Stadium in FCT. Kickoff time is 4 pm.
The former NWFL champions who seat 2nd on the log in Group A of the abridged league will hit Abuja for the showdown, fully ready to give the Abuja based ladies a run for their money.
Again, records has it that Naija Ratels have never beaten Edo Queens in competitive showpiece, but that doesn’t mean they are pushovers. The Benin- City ladies will bring into play their experience and expertise aimed at nothing but victory against the Barrister Paul Edeh girls.
In the last home game against Adamawa Queens played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, before the Christmas break, Edo Queens had an emphatic 2-0 win over the visitors. Sensational forward Atume Doosuur, netted in two goals in that encounter. She as scored three goals in four games.
The Benin Queens have however promised to have an impressive run in Abuja. Now that the team have rediscovered their rhythm, in all departments of the game, Naija Ratels should expect a fierce battle.
Meanwhile, Edo Queens dangling forward and goal poacher, Atume Doosuur, has said that she is always happy each time she scores goal for her club.
According to her: “Each time I score goal for my club, it gives me joy and I give glory to God. I also thank the technical crew for giving me the opportunity, same goes to my teammates for their support. When we are set for a crucial league match I always pray to God to help me so I can score. I’m happy when I see my team win. My goal is to constantly progress by scoring more goals. We want to be at the Super six and also work hard to win the league so we can represent Nigeria in the continent.”
