Edo born lady set sight on Guinness World Record for Longest Reading

27 year old Asein Angel Osariemen, a 500 Level Fisheries student of the Lagos State University (LASU), has set her sight on achieving the Guinness World Record for the Longest Reading Aloud Marathon(Read-A-Thon).

The Edo State born lady said she is doing this feat as a way of promoting “the arts and culture of Edo State and Nigeria as a whole, will also encouraging a reading culture among the younger generation.”

The historic event which will take place at the Library Complex of the Edo State Secretariat Building, is going to last 200 hours commencing from the 23rd February and ending on the 3rd March.

In his address, Hon. Chris Nehikhare, the State Commissioner for Communications and Orientation, said that the state government is joining forces with the organisers of the event with all the support that is needed so as to make it hitch free and end up a huge success.

“To make this event even more memorable, we have planned a series of exciting activities and events to run alongside the marathon. These include quizzes, debates, arts exhibitions, comedy shows, a cocktail party and liveband performances.

“We believe that these diverse events will not only entertain our audience but also provide a platform for interaction and engagement, foistering a sense of community and celebration,” Nehikhare asserted.
