Edo at 32: Federal lawmaker congratulates govt and people of the state

The federal lawmaker representing Egor/Ikpoba-Okha Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Honourable Murphy Osaro Omoruyi, has sent a warm felicitation to the government and people of the state on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the creation of Edo State from the defunct Bendel State. Hon. Omoruyi is of the Labour Party (LP).

While eulogizing the giant strides recorded by the state in the past thirty-two years, Hon. Omoruyi appreciated all the leaders both past and present who have contributed in one way or the other in making the state an outstanding one in the comity of Nigerian states.

The lawmaker pledged to use his position to further the growth and development of the state even as he enjoins all stakeholders irrespective of party affiliations to close ranks and work together for a greater Edo State.

Meanwhile, Hon. Omoruyi has added his voice to that of the state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and other well-meaning indigenes of the state on the call on the federal government to as a matter of urgency intervene in the rehabilitation/reconstruction of the various failed portions of federal roads across the state.

The lawmaker said no time could be more auspicious in doing so other than now that the state is marking its 32nd year of creation from the defunct Bendel State and 60th anniversary of the Midwest Referendum.
