Comrade Ohio Omoh Odihiri, Chairman of the Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Wing, has strongly condemned what he tagged “the false, misleading, and reckless report published by Sahara Reporters alleging that thugs working with the Edo State Governor were responsible for the burning of the residence of Mr. Albert Obazee in Amagba, Edo State.”
According to the Youth Chairman, “the unsubstantiated mention of Comrade Tony Kabaka, the Edo State APC Youth Leader, as one of the alleged culprits. This allegation is not only false but malicious, as Comrade Tony Adun is currently outside the country in Europe for the festive season, a fact that can be easily verified. Dragging his name into this unfortunate incident is a clear act of misinformation and character assassination.”
Odihiri demanded “an immediate public apology and retraction from Sahara Reporters for publishing unverified claims, misleading the public, and dragging the Edo State Government and innocent party members into a criminal matter without facts.
“The Edo State Government under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo is committed to peace, lawfulness, and the protection of lives and property.
“This administration is focused on repositioning Edo State in the right direction through good governance, inclusiveness, and development—not violence or lawlessness.”
Odihiri urged Sahara Reporters and other media organizations “to embrace responsible journalism by verifying facts before publication. We also call on law-abiding citizens of Edo State to remain calm, avoid being misled by sensational reports, and continue to support this government as we collectively work to build a better, safer, and more prosperous Edo State.”
