Edo 2024: PDP disowns Asue Ighodalo’s endorsement, warns mischief makers, political traders

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State has on Thursday, January 11th, 2024, disowned the endorsement of Asue Ighodalo purportedly made by a senatorial zone of the party recently.

According to a statement to that effect made by Hillary Otsu, the party’s General Secretary in the state, he stated: “Our attention has been drawn to a Press Release by a segment of a senatorial zone indicating the endorsement of Dr. Asue Ighodalo as governorship candidate.

“The unwarranted Press Release has already began to raise questions with regards to the credibility of the nomination process, which the party has just kick-started.

“As a result of incessant calls we are advising all party members/faithful to disregard, totally, this Press Release/Adoption statement. The process for nomination for an Edo PDP governorship candidate has started and will be followed through to its completion.

“We hereby warn mischief makers and political traders to desist from any acts that will hinder this process. Our goal is to ensure a smooth and credible process, acceptable to all aspirants. Good luck to all our aspirants.”
