The electoral fortunes of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Monday Okpebholo, in the September 21st governorship election received a massive boost yesterday when the entire political structure of the New Nigeria Peoples Party(NNPP) in Edo Central Senatorial District defected to the APC.
The mass exodus was coordinated by the Senatorial leader of NNPP, Engr. Mike Ehichioya Kuku. Among those who endorsed the governorship candidate of the APC are the Senatorial Leader of Edo Central, Chief Victor Enemiye and his Vice, Mr. Michael Ehimare.
Other NNPP chieftains who joined the APC are the chairman of Esan West Local Government Area, Comrade Victor Idialu; the Chairman of Esan Central, Dr. Doggard; the Vice Chairman of Esan West Local Government Area, Comrade Kingsley Omogbeirale; the Secretary of Esan West Local Government Area, Mr. Ehis Ibhafidon and the senatorial youth leader, Comrade Collins Arabomen.
Others who swelled the APC ranks are the women leader of NNPP in Esan West Local Government Area, Mrs Obehi Ajakaiye; the Chairman of Igueben Local Government Area, Mr. Mark Enemi; the Welfare Officer of Esan West Local Government Area, Ms P. Akhere and the Chairman of Esan West Local Government Area, Mr. Roy Eromonsele.
They promised to bring on board the same political enthusiasm with which they worked for the NNPP to the APC to ensure its victory in the upcoming polls.
