Edo 2024: Majority Leader of Edo State House of Assembly charge women to stand with PDP

The Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Charity Aiguobarueghian Esq, while addressing female members of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Ovia North East Local Government Area in a meeting held in Ovbiogie community, charged the women to stand firm with the PDP and ensure that their votes make the difference for the emergence of Asue Ighodalo, the party’s flagbearer in the forthcoming governorship election in the state, as the winner. 

He saluted the resilience of the women folk with a promise that their steadfastness to the ideal of the PDP will be rewarded in due course, adding that Governor Obaseki, has been prudent in the management of the state’s resources by which he has been able to allocate resources for the development of infrastructures. 

Earlier, the Vice Chairman of the local government council, Hon. Efosa Uyigue, having passed the goodwill messages of some key stateholders of the party like the mother of state, wife of the state governor, Her Excellency Dr (Mrs) Betsy Obaseki; the wife of the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Mrs Ifeyinwa Asue-Ighodalo; Chairman of Ovia North East Local Government Council, Hon. Collins Ogbewe and the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Monday Osaigbovo, to the gathering, she told them to gird their loins in readiness to vote massively for the PDP during the poll. 

She assured the women that what the First Lady of Edo State has done for women in the state which has given them their a better position in politics, and the government will be continued by Mr Asue Ighodalo.

That Governor Obaseki has empathy for them considering the hardship that they have been going through as a result of the defective economic policies of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government. 

Hon. Uyigue gave a brief on the scorecard of the Governor Godwin Obaseki led PDP government in the local government area, especially as it relates to infrastructural development.
