Senator Monday Okpebholo, the governorship standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in the Saturday, September 21st, poll in Edo State, has assured the people of the state that his coming is to right all the wrongs perceived to have been committed by the outgoing Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

He was speaking on the ocassion of the flag-off of the Edo South Senatorial Campaign arm of his team in Benin City on Tuesday afternoon.

Senator Okpebholo said that his administration will bring forth good governance, show empathy to the people and also ensure that the best is made available to the citizenry a thing he said he has been doing even before coming into office as a senator.

On the revocation of the certificate of the land of deceased multi-billionaire, Captain Idahosa Wells Okunbor, a son of the soil, by the Obaseki administration he promised to revert the action and even add more space to the land for the benefit of the Okunbor family.

According to him, the deceased action of investing in the state is a welcome development which the state government should have appreciated so that other businessmen of the state extraction would be encouraged to follow his footsteps.

Also speaking, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who is Governor Obaseki’s predecessor in office, lamented that all he laboured for in his eight years in office were jettisoned by Obaseki who promised so much but achieved nothing tangible.

On the issue of the Benin artifacts, Senator Oshiomhole told the mammoth crowd that Okpebholo, with the backing of President Bola Tinubu, will harness resources to build a world standard royal museum for the Benin monarch to house the precious artifacts.

Senator Oshiomhole while welcoming to the party, Hon. Gabriella Omosede Igbinedion, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, who dumped the PDP for APC, stated: “we value you as a huge political asset. We will not disappoint you.”

In his submission, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, a leader of the APC in the state while quoting from the holy bible(Psalm 7 verse 9) said: “Let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end” appealing to the people to ensure that they cast their votes for Senator Okpebholo on the election day.

The restored deputy governor of the state, Comrade Philip Shaibu, charged the people to come out in large numbers without fear on the day of the election and cast their votes for the APC candidate.

Speaking in pidgin, he said: “They have been defeated. On election day make una come out. Dem no get level. Level no dey. Lets take wickedness out of Edo State. Peace will return to Edo State by September 21st.”

In her own comment, Hon. Omosede Igbinedion stressed that with the huge turn out of people to the campaign ground it is obvious that the Senator Okpebholo is already in the state government house, adding that everyone should be on the lookout as a “tsunami is going to happen soon.”

Comrade Kelly Okungbowa(aka Ebo Stone), National Coordinator of the Youth 4 Youth Initiative, who also defected to the APC, promised that his group will work assiduously to ensure that the party achieves a clean sweep at the polls.
