It was the climax of activities marking the governorship nomination campaign tour of the former deputy governor of Edo State, Lucky Imasuen, to the various local government area chapters of the party, when he took his campaign to the leadership of the Edo South Senatorial District under the watch of Dr. Pius Egberanmwen Odubu.
Imasuen, accompanied by the Enigies, palace chiefs and party bigwigs from across the senatorial district, stormed the residence of Odubu amidst pomp and pageantry.
The governoship aspirant, an advocate for good governance, pledged to unite the party, respect its leadership by paying due consultation in all ramifications at all times. He also pledged to return governance to the people and harness the state vast resources for the good of all.
Mr. Imasuen assured of his capacity to win the election when given the party ticket giving his strong relationship with the over 600 ‘Okaegheles’ across various communities in the senatorial district. He also anchored his strength on the prior fortunes of the party under Adams Oshiomhole, the goodwill of the people and the grace of the almighty God.
The Edo South Senatorial leader of the party, Dr. Pius Odubu, former deputy governor of the state, who was visibly excited during and after Mr Imasuen’s enchanting speech responded by extolling his virtues, stating further that each time he struck a conversation with him there was always a take home.
He, however, assured that the leadership, having listened to the aspirant, would do the needful to ensure that the party produces a formidable candidate capable of weathering the storm come 21st September, 2024 governorship election in the state.
