Members of the Edo State Ex-Niger Delta Agitators Forum, rising from a high level meeting they held on Tuesday, have appealed to the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to reserve its deputy governor slot for the September 21 governorship election to the Ovia Constituency.

According to the Chairman of the forum, ‘General’ Peter Abiodun Edah, “Governor Obaseki has done well. His monumental achievements across the nooks and crannies of Edo State in his over seven years in office is worthy of continuation and who is better placed to be passed the baton of leadership than Barrister Asue Ighodalo whose commendable footprints in the corporate world is talked about at every turn.

“Considering the commendable contributions of the Ovia Constituency to the success of the PDP in Edo State it is not out of place for the area to demand for the deputy governor slot in the forthcoming governorship election.

“We are of the view that the incoming governor (Barrister Ighodalo) will equal Governor Obaseki’s landmark achievements if not surpass it on the long run. That’s the more reason we are calling on Edolites to rally round the PDP government in the state so as to ensure a seamless transmission of power from Governor Obaseki to Barrister Ighodalo come November 12.”

On the PDP Governorship Primary Election, he said: “The PDP Governorship Primaries Election in Edo State was beamed live on some national TV channels and the fair, free and rancour free manner it was conducted is commendable.”

Meanwhile, the ex-agitators gave a thumbs up to Barrister Gabriella Omosede Igbinedion, who represented the Ovia Federal Constituency some few years ago, for her doggedness and can do spirit.
