Edo 2020: Ex-militant Leader Canvass Support For Obaseki

Amokachi Perete, the Chairman Of Edo State Third Phase ex-militant leader, has appealed for calm as the  state governorship election slated for Saturday, September 19th, 2020, approaches.

According to him, “I see the candidates of the political parties contesting the election as brothers and sisters and as such any resort to violence is uncalled for.
“Rather, they should embrace the principles of fair and free polls which is built on the principle of one man, one vote.

“At the end of it all we all would come together as one in the interest of peace and unity. We expect the principle of good governance to prevail in the day to day running of the affair of the state.

“The fears now are that some people are stretching themselves beyond limit with hate speech and all kinds of lies which can lead to a big brawl in days to come.

“If we handle this issue well we will all benefit from the outcome of the election and we will be the better for it. Elections have been held in many countries successfully without people resorting to violence.

“As it is Governor Godwin Obaseki has done well and as such he deserves to be re-elected to continue the good work he is doing.

Continuity is what will bring the good governance that the people of Edo State yearn for.

“In all sectors he has left his footprints in the sands of time. His place in the history of the state is indeed assured.”
