The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the UK, Festus Ese Omoruyi, has felicitated with the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo(Akpakomiza), wishing him “a fruitful journey to Dennis Osadebe Avenue as he prepares to rewrite the ugly story of the last eight years in the state.”
He also congratulated party faithfuls for standing firm in the interest of democracy, wishing them a happy celebration just as he eulogized Edo indigenes in the United Kingdom who came home to vote as he call them resilient people.
Omoruyi called Akpakomiza “a man of destiny and, an idea whose time has come following his overwhelming acceptance by the Edo people despite propaganda generated against him.”
According to Omoruyi, “It was a very challenging election that pushed us to empty our reserves to fight the invaders across the state, and we are glad our investment in defence of the freedom of our people and common heritage wasn’t in vain. If for nothing, we’ll be counted among those who stood for our common heritage.”
He expressed his appreciation to “Edo people living in the United Kingdom for standing tall against all odds and also, encouraged those who have continued to offer their best for the progress of Edo to not allow anyone dissuade them in their commitment of service to their father land.”
