Social crusader and President of the One Love Foundation, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor, has admonished President Muhammadu Buhari to mind his business, lookout for ways of managing the affairs of the country judiciously instead of interfering in American issues as “charity begins at home.”
He said: “When was the last time that President Muhammadu Buhari addressed police brutality or extra judicial killings? Now he had the audacity to send message of solidarity and sympathy to Donald Trump.
“That’s why the artiste Whizkid told him that he has no business with American politics. We are being killed here daily by the police. You are not addressing that but talking about Donald Trump’s health.
“You should care about your citizens before caring about Americans because charity begins at home. Face the issues concerning your own citizens and let Americans solve theirs.”
On the pronouncement by the Inspector General of Police(IGP) Mohammed Abubakar limiting the operations of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) and other police tactical squads.
Eholor said: “The IGP’s pronouncement is coming too late. We are not even sure if this new pronouncement would be followed to the letter.
“We have had instances in the past where IGPs have made pronouncements that there should no longer be roadblocks only for such roadblocks to emerge on our major streets and highways. Also, in the past IGPs have pronounced that policemen should be withdrawn from politicians.
“This order is never obeyed. In some divisions you have less policemen than what some individuals have in their house to protect them and their family for their selfish interest. These are the same people who had made our country ungovernable. They turn our policemen to errand boys and their girlfriends’ guards.
“I don’t trust the Inspector General of Police because about two months ago I forwarded a letter to him asking him to resign and apologise to Nigerians because the Commissioners of Police in the states; Deputy Inspectors General(DIG) of Police and Assistant Inspectors General (AIG) of Police are not unawares of the activities of these thugs in uniform.”
