The Chairman and National Coordinator of the Non-Partisan Progressives Movement of Nigeria (NPPMN), Chief Chamberlain Owen Obaseki, has called for a rebirth.

“It is high time we reversed the trend where mediocrity and materialism are celebrated while excellence and integrity are relegated. This movement must remain a symbol of non-partisanship and a rallying point for credible Nigerians committed to genuine national development,” Chief Obaseki charged during the inauguration of the Management Committee of the NPPMN which was held at his residence in Benin City on  Sunday.

Chief Obaseki commended the vision behind the movement’s establishment, describing it as timely and necessary in the face of Nigeria’s increasing political polarization and the glorification of mediocrity.

The Chairman emphasized the need for unity within the committee, urging members to always speak with one voice and stay true to the values of the NPPMN.

“We must uphold and protect our founding principles. If we fail to lead with integrity, then we have no moral authority to advocate for a better Nigeria,” he said.

The meeting featured robust discussions on the future of the movement, members responsibilities, and steps towards formalizing its registration, including the constitution of a Board of Trustees(BoT).

In his contributions, the Legal Adviser, Barrister Pius Ohiwo, emphasized the need to remain resolute in the face of societal resistance to truth and transparency, while Mr. Emmanuel Osayi described the movement as a “non-partisan tree” destined to attract progressive minds.

Other speakers, including Ms. Daisy Osunde and Mr. Darlington Ogie, echoed the Chairman’s sentiments and pledged their support to the vision of the movement.

NPPMN continues to position itself as a non-partisan platform committed to national rebirth through credible advocacy and cultural reorientation.
