The magnificent Horatio Marquee, situated inside Edo Hotel on Okada Avenue, Off Golf Course Road, GRA, Benin City, was agog on Friday afternoon as guests from across the world and different walks of life gathered to honour Professor Dominic Osayande Osaghae as he celebrated his 70th year birthday amidst pomp and pageantry.

As early as 1 pm that afternoon the venue of the epoch event started been filled as guests trooped in for the after mass grand reception.

The occasion was spiced with good music, cultural displays, wining and dining just as the Masters of Ceremony exhibited their mastery of wise cracks and comic presentations.

Enough continental dishes, local delicacies, small chops, mixed with exotic drinks were made available for the guests as they also savoured the joy of the moment by swaying to the music and getting soaked in the entertaining cultural display.

In the midst of this the celebrant was surrounded by captains of industries, high networth individuals and top celebrities among whom were Dr. Osahon Enabulele, the President of the World Medical Association (WMA); Dr. Rowland Uche Ojinmah, President of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), his family members, academia, associates and many others too numerous to mention.

Guests were given memorabilia of colourful gift items as they made their way home after hours of the never to be forgotten classy and thrilling camaraderie that the occasion provided.

For Professor Osaghae, the memories of the epoch celebration which came immediately after the Thanksgiving Mass held at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on 1st East Circular Road, Benin, will forever linger.
