CAF Confederation Cup: Insurance, Berkane score two goals apiece at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium

Second round first leg match of the 2023 CAF Confederation Cup contest between home team, Bendel Insurance FC of Benin City and their Moroccan opponents, RS Berkane, played on Saturday evening at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium ended 2 goals apiece.

The match, which was characterized by very anxious moments as a result of a heavy downpour before and during the course of the encounter, was watched by a large crowd who stormed the venue almost three hours ahead of the 4.00pm kickoff time.

Not giving up hope of securing a draw in the match the Moroccans secured their second equalizing goal in the 78th minute. Thereafter, the Moroccans desirous of ensuring that the match ended in a draw resorted to employing delay tactics to achieve their game plan until the end of the game after 5 minutes added by the centre referee as injury time.
