Boss of Bayelsa Project Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate gives kudos to contractors

The Chairman of the Bayelsa State Directorate for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Engr. Ebiye Tarabina, has given kudos to contractors handling some projects in Yenagoa metropolis. He gave the kudos in the course of inspecting some completed and ongoing projects.

Projects inspected included the completed St John’s Primary School Road, Ogbogoro; the ongoing Doncont Street, Amarata; the Amalala Close, Off Bakery Road, Azikoro; Rev. Asingba Road, behind First Bank, Yenizue Gene; the ongoing Akoi Street, Off Barrath Road, Yenizue Gene and the completed Dimieari Street, Off Barrath Road, Biogbolo.

The team also inspected the ongoing Egili Road, Yenizue Epie; the completed Nengi Road, Off Saipem, Opolo; the completed Akali Road, Etegwe and the completed road, off Okutukutu School Road, Okutukutu.

Other projects inspected included the ongoing old Etegwe Road, Off Tombia/Amassoama, Etegwe; the completed Chief Kia Road, Ede-Epie; the ongoing Ebikederi/Assemblies of God Church Road, Akenfa and the Glory of God Drive Road, Igbogene.

Engr. Tarabina also lauded the contractors handling Rev. Asingba Road project behind First Bank, Yenizue Gene and the old Etegwe Road project, Off Tombia/Amassoama, Etegwe for the level and quality of work done so far. He urged the contractors to increase the pace of work for the timely completion of the projects.

He urged the contractors to abide by the terms of the contract agreement by providing appropriate drains for the channeling of water along such roads as well as erect sign post at project site for easy identification of Government projects.

The chairman of the directorate charged all contractors handling government projects in the state to execute their jobs according to specifications noting that the directorate will leave no stone unturned for the actualization of the mandate of the directorate.

A resident of the old Etegwe Road, Off Tombia/Amassoama, Etegwe and Chairman of the landlord forum, Mr Douye Ikputu, lauded Tari Pat International, the company handling the old Etegwe Road project, for the display of professionalism and high sense of commitment on the job, stressing that the project will impact positively on the socio-economic status of the people as well as reduce criminality, and provide access to residents.

He commended the Governor of the State, Sen. Douye Diri, for the construction of the road aimed at improving the standard of living of the people and also express his appreciation to the Chairman of the directorate for the inspection tour to ensure compliance by contractors.

The contractor, Mr. Tari Pat Zidougha, handling the old Etegwe Road project, hailed the Governor Douye Diri for the award of the contract noting that with the determination of the prosperity administration and with the pace of inspection the project will be completed on schedule.

Engr. Tarabina was accompanied on the inspection tour by members of the board, heads of department, engineers and newsmen amongst others.
