I will make Tinubu, Nigerians proud – Shaibu

We must deliver on our mandate, says Shaibu as he assumes duty as NIS DG

His Royal Highness Henry Binidodogha, Ovuru 1 of Ofunama in Edo State and National President of the First Phase Ex-Agitators Foundation, has poured encomium on the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, General Barry Tariye Ndiomu(rtd) for what he claimed are his chains of achievements since his assumption of office last year.

He described the Interim Administrator as a man with the right vision for the actualisation of better life for the people of the Niger Delta region. He pleaded with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to retain Ndiomu in his position “so that he can consolidate on his laudable achievements.”

The monarch said that the incessant change of leadership of the Presidential Amnesty Programme “is counter productive as a new appointee will surely have his own different ideas which means he will shelve the ongoing laudable programmes for his own ideas.

“This is setting back the gains of the programme, a situation that is having negative effect on the beneficiaries and indeed the entire Niger Delta region. So far Ndiomu’s approach has helped in calming the Niger Delta region.”

According to him “the system whereby the beneficiaries undergo crash programmes in skills acquisition whereby they don’t have the required deep knowledge to master their craft and thus earn good income which the Interim Administrator is addressing by turning it around is worth commendation. It would put a stop to the collosal amount that is going down the drain in the process of impacting skills on the beneficiaries which is inadequate.

“If the beneficiaries are so knowledgeable in what they do and thus they earn commensurate income they will be self-reliant. They will be capable of taking care of their bills and they will not be indulging in criminalities.”

On the cooperative loan scheme, Binidodogha was of the view that the scheme is a blessing and allayed fears that it is meant to stop the beneficiaries from getting monthly allowances/stipends. He however pleaded with beneficiaries to always pay back any such loan that they are given so that others too can also benefit from the initiative.
