Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM) worldwide wishes to congratulate all Edolites, especially Christians, on the occasion of the Easter season which comes after the annual forty days fasting period.
The forty days fasting period by Christians all over the world is better known to be a season for adherents to reflect on the teachings of Christ as it relates to self-denial and love for humanity among several other ideals.
The Easter season coming immediately thereafter is not just about the merriments many associate with it but majorly about reflecting on the gains of the forty days fasting preceding the Easter celebrations.
We, of the BSM, are using the opportunity of this year’s Easter festivities to urge Edolites to continue to live in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ which encompasses all about love, good neighbourliness and self sacrifice among others.
While we are congratulating all Edolites, especially the followers of Jesus Christ (Christians) on the Easter season we also wish to appeal that the gains of the forty days fasting period should not be jettisoned on the altar of celebrations.
We should all join hands to fashion a way out of the numerous challenges facing us at the moment and continue to pray for a better society where peace and justice reign.
