Bayelsa thrown into mourning as Deputy Governor dies

Bayelsa State has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of the state Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ehwrujakpor.

A source, who prefers anonymity, said Senator Ehwrujakpor slumped in his office and was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) where he was confirmed dead shortly after arriving the hospital.

The source further disclosed that the Deputy Governor had earlier been referred to in various quarters as a workaholic who hardly has time to rest.

Top government functionaries and others were dumbfounded as the news of the death of the Deputy Governor circulated around the state. He was 60 years old.
