Arase lauds Owan West Youth Foundation

Nigeria’s former Inspector General of Police(IGP), Mr. Solomon Arase, has described the  Owan West Youth Foundation (OWYF) as a unique concept that will productively engage the youths of the LGA and give them a prosperous future.

Mr Arase made this remark shortly after the official  launching of the Foundation  on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at the Corporate Office in Sabongidda-Ora.

He commended the Council Chairman, Hon. Franklin Ilaboya, for his administration’s  attention to youth empowerment programmmes since he became Council Chief Executive.

“Ilaboya’s youth driven initiative is second to none. I am very impressed with what is happening in Owan West and as one of the Trustees of the Foundation, I will do everything possible to assist and encourage the scheme  to succeed.

“We need initiatives like this to keep our youths positively engaged. The reality of the moment, especially with the current economic situation, is a big indication that it cannot be business as usual.

“That is why people like us are excited when we see Programmes of this nature. This will no doubt compliment empowerment packages which persons like me have been engaged in for the past years.”

The ex Police Boss has also  donated customised tables and chairs to the Foundation “as a way of encouragement to them.”

The Executive Chairman of the Council and the brain behind the initiative, Hon. Frank Ilaboya, expressed gratitude to Mr. Arase for the gesture and his readiness to join in  engaging  the youths productively through the Foundation.

“We are very grateful to Mr Arase. Right from when he was informed of the Foundation, he has been very supportive. That we have gotten this far is due to his inspiration,” Hon. Ilaboya explained.
