N’Edo Gharia, a socio-cultural group in Edo State, has congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Monday Okpebholo on the pronouncement of the Court of Appeal on Thursday upholding the victory of the Governor in the September 21, 2024, guber polls.
The group appealed to the opposition People’s Democratic Party(PDP) and its flagbearer at the polls, Barrister Asue Ighodalo to take the path of peace and join the state government under the leadership of Governor Okpebholo in the task of building a state that all Edolites will be proud of.
According to Comrade Patrick Ebojele, the Convener of the group, in a statement, “now that the Court of Appeal, has uphold the victory of Governor Monday Okpebholo at the Saturday, September 21, 2024, governorship election, it will be appropriate to call on the Barrister Asue Ighodalo to sheathe his sword and join his kinsman in building a state of everybody’s dream.
“From all indications, Governor Okpebholo is on a trajectory of lifting Edo State, the acclaimed Heart Beat State, to the highest pedestal whereby it will be the envy of all and sundry.
“This is not a wish that cannot be accomplished. It can be accomplished if we all join hands together. Once our hands are on the plow we cannot go back to Egypt. Our destination can only be Canaan, the land of milk and honey.”
On a final note, Comrade Ebojele stressed that burying the hatchet and embracing unity and cohesion will be of benefit to everyone at this stage when Edo State is talking of surpassing other states in terms of development.
