Mr. Godwin Asemota, the Chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria(AFAN), in Edo State and Farmer Agol Tracy Ebun, Commodity Head, And Women In Agricultural Progressive Development Initiative (NWAPDI), have sent a congratulatory message to three newly sworn Commissioners in the state, namely: the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Jerry Uwangue; Commissioner for Livestock Development, Professor Omorodion Ignatius Ikponwosa and the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Prince Kassim Afegbua, on their elevation to the positions.
Asemota and Ebun described the new Commissioners as people who have the right vision to move the affairs of Edo State to a higher pedestal. They went further to wish the new appointees a very memorable time in their new assignment.
“You are all round pegs in round holes. You the right vision to move the affairs of Edo State to a higher pedestal. We wish you all a very memorable time in your new assignment,” Asemota and Ebun echoed.
Meanwhile, the national headquarters of the AFAN has expelled the former State Chairman, HRH Alhaji Bako Dogwo, while replacing him with Mr. Godwin Asemota.
The national headquarters(NEC) of AFAN said in it’s letter to Asemota that “your appointment is in recognition of your integrity, commitment to farmers’ welfare, and contributions to the agricultural development of Edo State. You are hereby mandated to work closely with the National Secretariat to among others “restore peace, order, and unity among all members of AFAN in Edo State; revalidate and update membership records of all legitimate farmers and stakeholders under the Edo State Chapter and organize and supervise the activities of the Association pending the conduct of a new, transparent, and constitutionally recognized State election.”
