Abducted Nasarawa lawyer regains freedom after payment of N0.8m ransome

A lawyer, Bala Jacon Okari who was kidnapped at the weekend in his country home of Omgbolo in Nasarawa State has regained his freedom after his family paid N800,000 for his release.

Okari, the son of the late member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) representing Kokona East constituency was kidnapped yesterday by his abductors on his way to Omgbolo community (Angoro).

The Nasarawa State Police Command however, remained mute after his release by his abductors as the police public relations officer (PPRO) DSP Ramhan Nansel did not respond to call.

A family member who pleaded anonymity confirmed that the army has since taken over the bushy feeder road through which on daily basis kidnappers are lying siege on villagers who are mostly palm wine tappers and producers of black soap.
