Ambassador Tracy Ebun Agol, who is gunning for the Etsako East Constituency seat of the Edo State House of Assembly in the forthcoming general elections, has made a clarion call for a paradigm shift.
Agol, who is the flagbearer of the New Nigeria Peoples Party(NNPP), in the elections said in a statement that she issued over the weekend: “We cannot be doing same thing and expect different results. It is always in their character to come once in four years to deceitfully get our votes by giving us bags of beans, rice, salt and at most cash gifts.
“Thereafter, they disappear into the thin air only to resurface when it is time for another election. This practice of giving our votes to people with questionable characters and disgusting past records in public service in exchange for peanuts, has made us remain perpetually impoverished and undeveloped.
“There is an outcry for a change and overhauling of all facets of our lives as a people. And for this change to be achieved, we must decisively jettison the practice of giving our votes to people whose primary purpose of venturing into politics is their personal aggrandisement.
“We must look out for character, competence, capacity and readiness to do the bidding of the people. And this is when Hon. Amb Tracy Ebun Agol comes to our minds.”
