Crossfire: A tragic case of self-unaware hypocrisy

We have American soldiers that you cannot infiltrate. They are more solid and bigger. We have the Russian Army. We have Iraq. We have Iran. You have China. But look at them. Look at their structure. They don’t have so many Generals as we have in Nigeria.

We cannot continue to use favouritism and nepotism in promoting rank and file officers. We need to build a stronger army, a stronger defence. We also have so many number of police that have no portfolio. Some of them don’t even have beneath a tree to call their office. Too many DIGs too many AIGs. These are unnecessary burden on this country. Let us give them a better pay. Let’s give them better ammunition. Lets stop promoting people unnecessarily. We don’t need too many Generals. We don’t need too many Commissioners, AIGs or DIGs.

We just need strong, reliable, reformed transformation military aparatus. The United States Army has 17 active Generals. The Russian Army has 4 Generals. The highest rank in the German Army is the Lieutenant General and they have only one.

The General is the highest ranking officer in the British Army. They have 3 generals. In India, only the Chief of Defence Staff and Chief of Army Staff are Generals. Just 2! China has just 6 serving Army Generals.
