Chairman of the Directorate for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Engr. Ebiye Tarabina, has charged contractors handling government projects in the state to expedite action for the timely completion of their contact jobs and also in line with the terms of the contractual agreement.

Engr. Tarabina gave the charge during a project inspection tour to Nembe/Brass Road project on Thursday, May 11, 2023. The project monitoring boss noted that the Nembe /Brass Road project which is one of the three senatorial roads in the state will turnaround the economic fortunes of the people when completed. He urged the contractor to intensify efforts to complete the project on schedule.

Engr. Tarabina maintained that the project will open the Brass Island which has key natural economic assets such as the ongoing Liquefied Natural Gas, the Brass fertilizer amongst others, when completed.

The introduced the ownership concept by calling on the people of Nembe and Brass and other stakeholders to take the project as their own by protecting it, stressing that the road has huge economic benefits to the local economy as well as the nation at large.

He assured the people of Nembe and Brass of the prosperity administration’s commitment to the completion of the project despite challenges. He called on Bayelsans to always give their unalloyed support to the present administration.

Responding, the Project Manager of Setraco, the company handling the project, Engr. Julien, said dredgers have commenced sandfilling of the road, adding that many kilometers are expected to be covered in the coming days. Engr. Julien appreciated the Governor of the State, Sen. Douye Diri, for finding his company worthy for the construction of major road projects in the state.

He assured that the company would deliver on the project to the best of standards and within the time stipulated.

The chairman was accompanied by the Secretary of the Board, Engr. Sampson Igodo, members of the board and engineers among others.
