…We are forever in solidarity with the members-elect of the Edo State House of Assembly who were schemed out of their inauguration.
… They remain our compatriots and prisoners of conscience and will forever be remembered.
We are constrained to urgently refute the diatribe concocted from our patriotic press statement issued on the 13/02/2023 by agents of the Governor Obaseki led administration who in an attempt to save their administration from imminent defeat and rejection, chose to make a scapegoat out of us in order to gain their lost credibility.
Lies and deception have an expiration date, and in the end EVERYTHING comes to light. However, TRUST dies…and when it does, it does so forever…
We received with utmost disdain and irritation the twisted report of our press statement by the Edo Government media team and shared to media outfits like Midwest Heralds; www.alltimepost.com amongst others. This to our mind expresses the desperation of the proponents to soil our long standing integrity and fraternity with Edo people who have been quite disturbed by the twisted report and have been on our phones in the last few hours since the lies were circulated.
For the avoidance of doubt, the signed copy of our press statement is attached herewith for ease of reference. We urge Edo people to read and judge whether we by any stretch of imagination rejected our brothers who were schemed out of their inauguration.
Whereas, we do not want any political party to use us to score cheap political points, we are to call for the immediate withdrawal of the twisted report within the next 24hours or we shall be compelled (as we earlier promised during the press conference if our press statement is twisted) to address another press conference wherefore we shall deeply speak to the issue of refusal to inaugurate members-elect of the Edo Assembly who remain our compatriots, comrades, friends and brothers amongst other issues deserving of our address. Those who live in a glass house, don’t throw stones.
While we urge Edo people to disregard the twisted report, we are to urge the proponents of the blackmail of a report, to take solace at this time in the words of Alan Moore: *‘authority when first detecting chaos at its heels, will take the vilest form, to save its orderly façade…’
We remain patient until the next 24 hours.
