Friday Elahor, a former Super Eagles player, who dorned the green-white-green coloured jersey with pride for many years, has charged the members of the board of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) to learn from other countries how they give good treatment to their national team players.

When asked if he feels he has been well treated for his years as a prominent Super Eagles player, he said, “no, I have not been well treated in comparison to what is obtainable in other countries of the world.

“Let me use the case of my colleague, the late Rashidi Yekini, as an example. You saw how he died. It was a sad story. When we went for his burial none of the board members of the NFF were there. We, ex-players were there. We even played a novelty match in his memory.

“We have been hearing so many stories of what the NFF have been doing to the national team players. We hear about not paying them their match bonuses. That the players are not well treated.

“I think the NFF will have to learn from the other countries how they treat their national team players and ex-players. Here in Nigeria it is not like that,” he told Popular News.
