Addressing newsmen, Chairman of the Forum, Dr. Luke Imafidon Emumwen said, “We are appealing to the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, to help sign the document we presented to him after our meeting with the Secretary to State Government (SSG), Osarodion Ogie Esq.

“Some of our fellow pensioners are dead. They died while in acting service, they died of what they could have taken control of, some are very sick and bedridden while some are not able to buy drugs for themselves.

“We believe the governor will do the needful and listen to our plight because he is a man with reasoning.”

Citing the document signed by the Association which was titled “Request For Your Intervention In the Plight of College of Education, Ekiadolor Pensioners and Retirees Arising From Non-Payment of Pension and Gratuity.

“We were last paid in the month of September 2019. Since then, we have made several efforts to get the governor’s attention to our plight, but to no avail.

“We earnestly and sincerely seek your intervention in this matter to enable us survive the present day harsh economic conditions.

“Many of us are suffering from one health challenge or the other, coupled with other essentials of life,” they said in the document signed by Mr. Richard Aituayuwa and Dr. Luke Emumwen.
