Prince Tony Ogievie 1, the priest of the Ogievie Temple situated in Evwotubu in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State, has warned naysayers to stop their unfounded allegations and name calling.

“Ogievie is a household name that transcends the length and breadth of Benin and even beyond. The activities of which are well reported and publicised. This has been ongoing for many years and there has never been a negative commentary.

“My advice to those who are in doubt is that they should go and do thorough investigation and research for confirmation. It would not be in order for me to start reeling out statistics or figures.

“The gods cannot be mocked. Anybody doing anything in a bid to tarnish the reputation of Ogievie is just making a jest of himself. He is bound to fail and end up in disgrace.

“We don’t have anything to hide. We are doing all our activities in the open. No room for any hidden activity as far as Ogievie is concerned. Ogievie has come to stay. No negative arrow shot at Ogievie can hit target,” he submitted.

Prince Ogievie was reacting to recent attempts by some disgruntled elements to blackmail the temple and its activities.
