Comrade Joman Bernard Egwekhide, the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Edo State Chapter, has described the Governor of the state, Senator Monday Okpebholo, as a God sent on account of his strings of achievements in his less than 16 months in office.
Speaking in a chat, Comrade Egwekhide affirmed: “I want to say that what the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has done in one year and three months is more than what some governors did in eight years. In the history of the state his achievements can only be compared with that of the legendary General Samuel Ogbemudia.
“If there is any other name we can call him outside workers friendly governor I think he deserves it.”
On employment, Comrade Egwekhide said Governor Okpebholo has broken the barrier of making the highest number of employment in the state.
“Over 16 years in Edo, I can tell you authoritatively that what most governors do when it comes to employment is by employing casual workers. For the first time we have seen a Governor that have employed over 15,000 persons on a permanent basis.
“When it comes to employment and holding workers close, Okpebholo is the number one.”
The NLC Chairman showered praises on Governor Okpebholo for his recent act of handing over 54 construction equipment to the 18 local government councils in the state.
“We must thank God that He has given us a Governor that actually came to rescue the state. When he was campaigning he promised he was going to turn the state to a construction site. Today, that’s manifesting.
“Go round the 18 local government areas of the state, Okpebholo is working round the clock.”
