High Chief Abudu Ugbesia (JP) the Chairman of the Edo State Traditional Medicine Board (TMB) has given kudos to Governor Monday Okpebholo for his chains of people centric projects in less than 18 months in office.
Speaking in a chat, Chief Ugbesia stated: “If you take a look, within one year and some months you can see what Governor Monday Okpebholo is doing across the state. As he is working in Edo South he’s also working in Edo Central and Edo North. He is balancing the equation.
“He does not take sides. Anybody that understand construction, if you get to the flyover (at Ramat Park) a lot of money has gone into its construction that’s enough to do so many other projects. But he’s doing it to make it standard. Just recently there was news that he is planning to build a refinery for the state. That refinery will be sited in Benin.
“If anybody is planning against him or having grudge against him that person must be a devil. Anybody that is complaining that Okpebholo is not doing well that person doesn’t like development. Siphoning public funds and leaving people in poverty is not the right way to govern. He has completed so many roads. He has done a lot. Although, everybody cannot like you. Everybody cannot be your friend.”
Chief Ugbesia praised the Governor for allocating a piece of land to the TMB to serve as Botanical Garden to the traditional medical practitioners.
“Governor Monday Okpebholo gave the piece of land to the TMB based on his desire to unify the state according to the religions because the man is a Christian and he recognizes the Muslims and the traditional religion. May God be with him and protect his life for the entire Edo State.
“No governor has done this before. The way this man restructured things in the state I have never seen a governor that work this way. God bless him.
“Giving us that Botanical Garden to plan our house is a way of having raw materials for the traditional doctors to use in producing herbs, traditional medicines. Medicine and food are the two things you use to take care of your body.
“You can’t sideline medicine because God create this world and give us all these roots and herbs to take care of our lives, to take care of our body. The governor is able to understand this and has given us that botanical garden.”
